Windsor Essay Writing Service - University of Windsor
The University of Windsor is a public comprehensive and research university located in Windsor, Ontario. It originates with the foundation of Assumption College Roman Catholic in 1857, a theological Jesuit school. As the Jesuit institution grew in both academic scope and in size, it affiliated with other colleges to provide additional areas of instruction. In 1919, Assumption College affiliated with the University of Western Ontario, becoming that school's largest affiliate. In 1950, the college welcomed its first female students.
However, a financial crisis forced the theological school to become a public, nondenominational school in order to qualify for public funding. In 1953, it had completely transformed into a secular, independent university when the province of Ontario granted it independent university status. In 1962, it received an official charter as the University of Windsor, and it affiliated with several religious colleges, including Canterbury College, the first Anglican college ever to affiliate with a Catholic university.
Its first decade as the University of Windsor saw enrollment grow from 1,500 to 8,000 students, and today that enrollment has doubled again to more than 16,000 students.

The university has three fraternities and one sorority. Many students travel across the Ambassador Bridge to Detroit, Michigan to take advantage of the American city's cultural and recreational activities. Students living on campus reside in one of six residence halls, which divide students into first year and beyond first year groupings. Only one residence hall, Alumni Hall, houses students from both groups in the same building. Residence hall accommodations range from traditional dorm rooms to suite-style living arrangements.
Athletics are offered at the intramural, junior varsity, and varsity levels, including varsity football, soccer, ice hockey, and outdoor track and field.
Many students work at the Ambassador Duty-Free Store, at Canada's busiest border crossing, under a special arrangement the Ambassador Duty-Free Store has with the University.
